Two men have been charged after a man was shot dead in west London.

Mohamed Muhiyidin, 28, was discovered on Sipson Lane, Harlington, on Sunday 31 October after a passing motorist noticed a person lying on the side of the road.

Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics who battled to save his life.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and a post-mortem has confirmed the cause as a gunshot wound to the chest.

Mohammed Ilyas Shakeel, 28, from Barking, has now been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of a firearm with intent to commit violence and assisting an offender.

He will appear in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court.

Another man, aged 44, was charged with assisting an offender and appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 4 November. He was remanded in custody to appear at the same court on Thursday, 2 December.

Paramedics attended and initially believed Mr Muhiyidin from Southall had suffered a heart attack.

Despite the efforts of the emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene 45 minutes later.
