Harley’s 2026 Premium Grand American Touring Range Receives Substantial Revisions

Harley-Davidson has been in the news aplenty lately regarding switch-ups in the company's C-suite employees. But we finally get to talk about what's happening outside of the boardroom because the manufacturer just released all the info about its 2026 Premium Grand American Touring range (Street Glide Limited and Road Glide Limited). Thankfully, it's not just a refresh, heck, they even got aero—in a cool, useful way.

The Street Glide Limited and Road Glide Limited are made to crunch miles, pack a punch, and come with all the creature comforts you'd expect from the Milwaukee brand's high-end models.

The main thing that separates the two bikes is the fact that the Street Glide Limited uses the classic "batwing" fairing, whereas the Road Glide Limited uses the 'sharknose' fairing fixed to the frame, which gives it the edge when it comes to touring capabilities. As such, these models share a lot of the same updates for 2026, starting with the powerplant.

With more displacement, enhanced intake and exhaust flow, and variable valve timing (VVT), the Milwaukee-Eight VVT 117 engine offers 7.4% more torque and 14.0% more horsepower than the Twin Cooled™ Milwaukee-Eight 114 powertrain in 2024 Grand American Touring models. The 1,923cc twin produces a whopping 131 lb-ft of torque at 3,500 rpm and 106 hp at 4,600 rpm.

Variable Valve Timing (VVT) broadens the overall powerband and improves city/highway average fuel efficiency by 2% to 3% compared to the same engine with fixed valve timing. The rider should also notice improved cooling efficiency compared to the Milwaukee-Eight® 114 powertrain, especially in low-speed riding situations and hot weather, thanks to a new cylinder head cooling system. The Milwaukee-Eight VVT 117 supports a charging output of 58 peak amps, which is a 21% increase in charging power compared to 2024 models with the Milwaukee-Eight® 114 powertrain.

Keeping all that power in check are updated rider aid systems. Harley's Rider Safety Enhancements are designed to match motorcycle performance to available traction during acceleration, deceleration, and braking. The Street Glide® Limited and Road Glide® Limited models are equipped with these elements of Rider Safety Enhancements by Harley-Davidson: Straight Line/Cornering Electronically Linked Brakes (ELB/C-ELB), Straight Line/Cornering ABS (ABS/C-ABS), Straight Line/Cornering Traction Control (TEC/C-TCS) with modes, Straight Line/Cornering Drag Torque Slip Control (DSCS/C-DSCS), Vehicle Hold Control (VHC), andTire Pressure Monitoring (TPMS).

Both models also benefit from the OEM's new Skyline OS with a 12.3” color touchscreen, which has Apple CarPlay compatibility and can receive over-the-air software updates. But, while the infotainment is cool, these models are all about comfort, and, for 2026, they're even more comfortable thanks to all‑new Grand Tour‑Pak luggage with integrated speakers, flush LED lighting, an upgraded Rockford Fosgate premium audio system, and new aero packages, which we support in this instance.

The new aero packages aren't there to add 3 kilos (6.6 pounds) of downforce at 120mph, but rather to better redirect airflow so that the rider sits in a bubble of clean air. The ride should be more comfortable, too, thanks to new Showa dual outboard emulsion technology shock absorbers, replacing the previous rear suspension that used emulsion technology on one of two shocks. At low speeds, both models should handle better, too, as Harley shaved 24 pounds off the Street Glide Limited's curb weight and 13 pounds off the Road Glide Limited's curb weight.

From the engine to the electronics and chassis, everything is a significant cut above on the Road Glide Limited and Street Glide Limited, but the price hasn't risen so significantly. Both models start at $32,999 (previously $32,499).
