A handgun was seized by police and two women arrested after a raid on a Kirkby home.
Officers found a gun and cocaine in the property, on Stourton Road , at around 4pm on Monday.
Two women - a 38-year-old and 62-year-old - were arrested on suspicion of possession of a fireman without a certificate, possession with intent to supply a Class A drug cocaine.
The handgun recovered from the property has been taken for forensic examination to establish whether it has any links to any incidents.

Detective Inspector Jackie Guinness said: "It is always good news for the people of Merseyside when we take out of circulation a firearm that could have been used by criminals to cause serious harm in our communities.
“People who attempt to hide firearms should be aware that we will use all available tactics to tackle gun crime on a daily basis, and recoveries such as this demonstrate our determination to take weapons off our streets and arrest those suspected of possessing them."
