Hamilton Accies defender Jamie Hamilton impressed Brighton and Hove Albion after being invited to train with the Premier League club, but there is no immediate offer.
Accies chairman Allan Maitland said Hamilton impressed Seagulls bosses Graham Potter and Billy Reid , but there was nothing to report.
The defender, who turns 18 on Sunday, had reportedly also attracted the attention of German sides Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen.
Maitland said: "Jamie did really well, and they will be speaking to [owner] Ronnie MacDonald about money in due course, I'm sure, but there is nothing to report.
"It was always an invitation, it was never going to be followed up immediately with an offer, but Billy and Graham said he did really well."
