The Palestinian Hamas resistance movement has released photos of what it says are the Israeli special forces involved in last week's botched commando raid against Gaza, apparently promoting fears in the regime's military, which asked people and media not to share them.
The Israeli unit clashed with Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military arm of Hamas group, for two days, threatening of dragging the strip into a new war.
Qassam Brigades called on Palestinians wherever they are to help in providing any information about these individuals through the electronic mail or texting applications and Whatsapp. According to a statement, the brigades foiled a dangerous Zionist plot.
Sources told Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper that the pictures were taken during the presence of the force in Gaza, as it stayed there for weeks. They added that the force rented houses and chalets and was active in the strip for some time under cover of an association to help the poor.
Hamas has launched an investigation in this matter and is looking for individuals who might have been involved in supporting the special Israeli force.
Gaza Division Commander Brig. Gen. Eliezer Toledano said that the disclosed unit in Khan Yunis, south Gaza Strip, was on a mission.
The Israeli Military Censor and the Israel Defense Forces urged Israelis not to disseminate pictures published by Hamas. “Hamas is working now to interpret and understand the event that occurred within Gaza on November 11, and every piece of information, even if it is considered by the publisher as harmless, is liable to endanger human lives and damage,” the censor said.
