Bringing an early chill to the summer is news that a new Halloween event will be heading to the city this year which promises to be a must-have ticket of the spooky season.
The Halloween Ball will feature a line-up of headline DJs and pop artists out to conjure up a party mood against a suitably atmospheric backdrop at Northumbria Institute.
Billed as " Newcastle 's biggest Halloween party", the ball will play out on October 31 at the venue, in Northumbria University Students Union, which will be transformed on the night with Halloween decorations, pyrotechnics, confetti, LED screens and a light show.
Setting the mood of the party, which will run from 9pm to 2am, will be electronic duo Sigma who have collaborated with the likes of Rita Ora, Take That, Paloma Faith, John Newman and most recently Birdy.
Known for hits such as Nobody to Love; Anywhere and 2 Hearts, the pair will be performing a DJ set while also making appearances on stage will be DJ James Hype and singer Karen Harding who is from Consett.
Karen, who followed up her debut single Say Something with song such as Undo My Heart, her collaboration with Digital Farm Animals, is set to release her first album this year.
Also on the night's bill will be rising Irish DJ and producer Shane Codd, whose Get Out My Head is described as one of the biggest tracks of the year so far, emerging singer Harlee and electro-pop artist Koolkid.
Tickets for the Halloween Ball will go on sale this Friday at 10am via SeeTickets.
