Halloween 2022: Where to pick your own pumpkins in and around Bristol

Halloween is fast approaching which means it's time to get carving spooky faces into pumpkins. But to make the activity even more exciting for your kids, why not pick your own rather than buying one from a supermarket?

After two years of spending the spookiest season of the year home-bound, 2022 is set to be Halloween's gory comeback. There are loads of venues across the Bristol area offering families the chance to search for their perfect pumpkin before taking it home.

All of the places listed below are guaranteed to make this holiday its most thrilling yet- for adults and kids alike.

Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park

Pumpkin picking at Avon Valley (Paul Gillis)

Where: Pixash Lane, Bath Road, Keynsham, BS31 1TP

Cost: Tickets cost £4.99 per person and babies in arm go for free

Tickets must be bought in advance of your visit. Avon Valley has a huge pumpkin patch filled with 20,000 pumpkins.

The pick-your-own patch is open on 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th October.

The park is open from 10am to 5.30pm on those days.

Triggols Farm

Where: 181 Clevedon Rd, Tickenham, Clevedon BS21 6RG

Cost: TBA

The pumpkin patch at Triggols Farm will be pen from October 8, 10am to 5pm, everyday until it runs out.

There's no need to book but be expected to queue for a short while at busy periods.

Farrington's Farm

Where: Home Farm, Main Street, Farrington Gurney, BS39 6UB

Cost: £2.50 per person, under 2s are free

Pumpkin picking sessions at Farrington's Farm are running all through October.

Tickets must be purchased in advance of entry. Everyone entering the Pumpkin Patch must have a valid ticket.

Noah's Arc Zoo Farm

Where: Clevedon Road, Wraxall, BS48 1PG

Cost: Entrance to the farm is free for children under 2, as well as carer for the paying guest with accessibility needs. Tickets then range from £11 to £20.85.

Noah's Arc Zoo Farm is hosting its fourth annual Pumpkin Fest this year, with daily events taking place from October 17 until November 6.

People can pick and carve a pumpkin with the little ones or take part in the mystery trail, working their way through the zoo and try to discover the hidden pumpkins.

The animals at the farm will also be getting involved, with pumpkins being carved up and food hidden inside for them to find.

Primrose Vale Farm

Where: Primrose Vale Farm Shop, Shurdington Road, Bentham, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GL51 4UA.

Cost: Admission is free

Primrose Vale is hosting its popular pumpkin trail again this year, with thousands of pumpkins to choose from. Tickets are free and allow you to enter and walk to the pumpkin patch, where there will be lots of photo opportunities.

The Halloween Trail will be up and running from October 21, right through to Halloween itself. Tickets will be available to book through Primrose Vale Farm's website by October.
