Gylfi Sigurdsson misses out in Everton midfield as Lucas Digne set to continue new role

Lucas Digne captains Everton tonight as he returns to the starting line-up for the game with Leicester City.

But it appears as though Carlo Ancelotti will, once again, ask Digne to play in a left-wing role and operate with the same back four that performed so well at Wolves in the Blues’ last Premier League match.

Jordan Pickford comes back into goal after sitting out the FA Cup win on Sunday with Michael Keane returning.  It means Robin Olsen and Seamus Coleman drop to the bench.

Also among the substitutes is Gylfi Sigurdsson with Ancelotti preferring Tom Davies alongside Andre Gomes.

Everton’s formation is not yet clear but James Rodriguez, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison all start in what could either be a 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 formation.

Olsen and Jonas Lossl are the goalkeepers on the bench and sit alongside Sigurdsson, Alex Iwobi, Jonjoe Kenny, Bernard, Coleman, Anthony Gordon and Tyler Onyango.

Abdoulaye Doucoure misses out through suspension.

Everton (4-4-2/4-3-3): Pickford; Holgate, Mina, Keane, Godfrey; Davies, Gomes, Rodriguez; Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin, Digne

Subs: Olsen, Lossl, Sigurdsson, Iwobi, Kenny, Bernard, Coleman, Gordon, Onyango
