Guns N' Roses Glasgow Green gig cancelled due to 'illness and medical advice' a day before concert

Guns N' Roses Glasgow gig has been cancelled due to "illness and medical advice" just a day before the concert was set to take place.

They had been due to perform at Glasgow Green on Tuesday evening as part of their tour, though fans have now heard that the gig won't go ahead as planned. A statement issued on social media by Gigs in Scotland, who provide news updates for gigs promoted by DF Concerts, confirmed the news on Twitter.

It's understood ticket holders have been contacted and organisers plan to issue details on a rescheduled date in the future. The statement read: "Due to illness and medical advice, @gunsnroses will not be able to perform in Glasgow tomorrow.

"Ticket buyers have been contacted by their point of purchase and we will be in touch about the rescheduled date."

It comes after the Red Hot Chilli Peppers cancelled their gig at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow due to illness just hours before the event was set to take place on Friday, July 1. The news has left gutted Guns N' Roses fans totally devastated as raging Scots took to Twitter.

One person said: "9pm the night before? Lost hundreds on hotels and train tickets? Disgraceful."

Another replied: "Total gutted, frustrated and angry as like yourself looks like I lose £100 on hotel, if cancelled yesterday I would have had refund."

Another said: "What's happening there? On Friday there was the exact same message for RHCP. With the same words. That is weird."

Another simply added: "Gutted."

During the rock icons' gig at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it was reported that the doors opened around two hours late - meaning support act Gary Clark Jr did not get to play.

Sound problems also plagued the concert, as well as their second show the following night. And the band's set was significantly shorter on both nights, compared to their previous gig at Dublin’s Marlay Park.

It is not yet known if the Glasgow Green event will be rescheduled.
