Cannabis plants, drug-related items, illegal guns and a large quantity of ammunition have been uncovered during police raids on a group of remote islands in Bass Strait.
An Australian Federal Police and Tasmania Police operation using helicopters, boats and drones was undertaken last week on the Furneaux Islands.
"Numerous search warrants were executed, and police seized cannabis plants and other drug-related items," Tasmania Police said in a statement on Monday.
"Police also seized illegal firearms, and a large quantity of ammunition."
One man from Lackrana on Flinders Island has been charged with firearm possession and cannabis selling.
Tasmania Police say several residents from the island will be proceeded against for various gun and drug offences.
Detective Inspector Craig Fox said the operation was carried out based on intelligence about illegal commercial cannabis cultivation occurring on islands in the Furneaux Group.
"Tasmania Police is committed to detecting and preventing drug crime, no matter where it's happening in our state," he said.
The Furneaux Islands, which are home to about 1000 people, are located off northeast Tasmania.
