
A MAN who shot at a house at Aberdeen in the middle of the day on Thursday has pleaded guilty to a string of firearm offences and been refused bail.
Bruce William Evans, 62, appeared in Muswellbrook Local Court on Friday where he pleaded guilty to a number of firearm offences, including firing a firearm in a manner likely to injure, possession of a prohibited weapon without a permit, possession of an unauthorised pistol, possession of an unregistered firearm, not keeping a firearm safe and possession of a prohibited drug. He did not apply for bail and the matter was adjourned until February when he will be sentenced.
Hunter Valley police say they were called to McAdam Street at Aberdeen about 12.20pm on Thursday after reports of gunshots. No one was injured.
Police established a perimeter and launched an investigation, arresting Mr Evans in nearby MacQueen Street a short time later.
He was arrested and taken to Muswellbrook police station while police searched his home and located several firearms and ammunition.
