Gujarat Titans players and support staff were evacuated after the team's bus suffered a short circuit while returning from the Narendra Modi Stadium following the IPL final on Sunday night, according to a report by TOI.
The incident occurred hours after Gujarat Titans' five-wicket defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2026 final. While no injuries were reported, the players and support staff were left stranded on the roadside for nearly an hour before alternate arrangements were made, the report said.

The development capped a difficult few days for the Shubman Gill-led side, whose travel plans ahead of the final had already been disrupted by adverse weather conditions across north-western India. Their chartered flight to Ahmedabad was delayed by nearly three hours on Saturday, forcing the postponement of a scheduled captains' photoshoot featuring Gill and RCB skipper Rajat Patidar.
Gujarat Titans entered the final after a demanding travel and match schedule. The franchise lost Qualifier 1 to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Dharamsala on May 26 before travelling to Chandigarh and then Mullanpur, where they defeated Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 on May 29 to secure a place in the title clash.
Reflecting on the campaign after the final defeat, captain Shubman Gill said there were several areas the team could continue to improve despite an otherwise strong season.

"We couldn't get over the line, but there are always things that you could improve on. Even if we had won the trophy, there were still things that we felt as a group that we needed to work on," Gill said during the post-match presentation.
