Guardian Camera Club: Matthew Phypers on autumn colour photography
Autumn Berries. Thought I'd start the set off with a classic autumnal shot of a selection of berries and leaves changing colour. I used a shallow DoF to make sure the background didn't make this shot to busyPhotograph: Matthew Phypers/flickrSky/Trees Contrast.Out on my walk I saw this row of trees. And against the deep blue of the evening sky I thought the contrast was fantastic. I wanted to try and create an almost graphic image and just keep it very simplePhotograph: Matthew Phypers/flickrFrance or Hertfordshire?Hertfordshire! This may look like the grounds of a french chateaux however its location is just outside of St. Albans in Hertfordshire. This is personally my favorite shot in the set and epitomises autumn colours to mePhotograph: Matthew Phypers/flickr
Autumn sun worshipers.I felt the need to include another shot from this location due to the fantastic sunset on this autumn evening. The people here are obviously enjoying the last few moments of the sunset, while their faces have a red glow about themPhotograph: Matthew Phypers/flickrAutumn seaside sunset. While you might not think of the seaside to be the classic location for capturing autumn colours I believe that this shot could change anyones mind. You only get a sunset this orange and yellow around this time of yearPhotograph: Matthew Phypers/FlickrFenced in. I thought that this would be a good final shot for the set as the fence tails off into the distance so does my set (cheesy I know, thought I'd go for it)Photograph: Matthew Phypers/flickr
