Guardian Camera Club: jenquest on portraiture preserving anonymity
Child a blur: Using DOF to preserve the anonymity of the subject. The toys - in focus - are readily available in the shops so shouldn't be able to be used to recognise the child (I hope). These pictures work pretty well. The first one uses the child's toys as foreground interest and the crop on the face is just right. The second picture at the window is also good and it could have been even more of a silhouette. Again in the third frame a prop that might appeal to a child is used, but this time the figure is too obscured. The last three images are also well executed, but it's a shame that having gone to the trouble of finding a model and location, there isn't a bit more variety in the shots - using different focal lengths for example Photograph: jenquest/FlickrChild looking out of the window: Child looking out towards the garden. Rather than using his hand to cover his face, I chose to not include the face in the frame to preserve anonymityPhotograph: jenquest/Flickr
Man looking at a police car: Managed to drag a friend along to Trafalgar Square to help with this assignment.
