After launching Grok 4, today Elon Musk announced Companions, which is an AI service built by xAI. This update allows SuperGrok subscribers to enable and interact with AI companions within the Grok app on iOS. So if you are a SuperGrok user, then here’s how you can enable it:
- Update the Grok app on your iPhone with the latest version.
- Head over to Settings ➜ Companions.
- Toggle the feature On.
Once activated, you can jump between multiple personas without leaving a chat. Currently, you can choose between three different personalities, like Storyteller and Unhinged, for varied conversational experiences. The third companion’s specific name is not revealed as of now, but we are expecting to get more details about it in the near future.
Other Recent Grok Updates
Though that’s not all! Since the launch of Grok 4, the xAI team has been on a launch spree of new features. For example, recently the company announced:
- Voice Assistant Upgrade: A new voice dubbed “Eve” joins a lineup of multi‑voice options, giving you more natural‑sounding responses.
- Tesla Integration (Beta): Grok now runs on Tesla dashboards. Drivers can chat hands‑free and pick from personalities like “Storyteller” or “Unhinged.” (For now, the AI doesn’t control vehicle functions.)
- Anonymous In‑Car Chats: Conversations in Tesla are processed on xAI servers but aren’t tied to the driver’s account or vehicle data unless history sync is enabled.
That’s all about Grok for now. But I believe that in the coming days, we are going to witness more and more Grok updates. Though these updates will not be big, I am expecting some small and meaningful updates in the near future. Along with the new Grok 4 model, the company has also introduced a new $300-per-month AI subscription plan, SuperGrok Heavy.
