Grieving family call for help over missing dog Hector

A grieving family is desperate to find their dog who vanished from their garden in Co Tyrone days after his devoted owner passed away.

The white and cream, rough coat terrier is called Hector and he belonged to the family of Ann Colton, who died last week after life-prolonging surgery was cancelled twice last year.

Ann, 58, from Omagh, was determined to spend the last weeks of her life at home and Hector was never too far away.

But just two days after her funeral last Thursday, Hector escaped from his home in the Culmore Park area after the garden gate was not properly secured on Saturday night.

And now Ann's daughter Penny, is frantic to find him, contacting local media to help boost their search. They have been advised he may be looking for Ann and leaving an item of her clothing close by, may entice him back to the house.
