Grey’s Anatomy actor Brad Everett Young dies aged 46 in car crash after cinema trip

Grey’s Anatomy star Brad Everett Young has died aged 46 in a car crash.

The actor and celebrity photographer was coming home after watching a film on Sunday night when his car was hit by a vehicle going the wrong way, his publicist said.

Young - who photographed stars like Stranger Things actor David Harbour - died at the scene on the Ventura Freeway in Los Angeles, while the other driver was hospitalized and survived.

The Virginia native got his start as an actor in the late 1990s, appearing in shows like Grey's Anatomy and Boy Meets World, as well as films like Love & Basketball, Charlie's Angels, and I Love You, Man.

He played an appendectomy patient in a series five episode of Grey’s Anatomy that aired in 2008.

“Brad’s passion for both the arts and the people behind them was unmatched,” his publicist Paul Christensen said in a statement.

He added: “He lived his mission of keeping creativity alive, and his legacy will continue through Dream Loud Official.”

Young founded the arts education program Dream Loud Official, which was implemented in schools across America.

The initiative’s motto is that "creativity is not a luxury but an essential part of education," according to its website.

He is survived by his brother, Chris.

He was known for photographing celebrities like Paul Walker, David Harbour, and Seth Green, during photo shoots and red carpet events,

Young worked on projects for publications such as Vogue, Elle, Vanity Fair, The Hollywood Reporter, and Harper's Bazaar.

The photographer’s former co-stars shared tributes to him on social media.

Bryan Craig, who previously played Morgan on General Hospital, wrote: "This is never the type of article you want to post for someone you know

"This is devastating. R.I.P. to a great guy that always had a smile on.”

Chris McKenna, who plays Jack on General Hospital, shared some of Young's pictures with the caption: "These were taken just a couple weeks ago by the late @bradley206 we won't see another like him.”

General Hospital actor Parry Shen penned: “Brad Everett Young was one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever met.

"But the one trait that made him truly stand out in this business, often filled with cynicism, was his indomitable positivity."

"He was always striving to make the situation better. A huge, huge loss. Rest in peace, friend.”
