Greggs opens its first ever bar

Greggs has opened its first ever bar , Fenders Unplugged, in celebration of Geordie icon and Sausage, Bean & Cheese Melt fan, Sam Fender. Tickets for the bar were snapped up when they went on sale earlier this week, selling out within minutes with fans desperate to get a slice of the action.

Those who were lucky enough to get their hands on tickets will get the ultimate pre-gig experience ahead of Sam’s sold out shows. Each session will last for 75 minutes, with complementary Greggs combos served up and washed down with Sam’s favourite drink, Newcastle Brown Ale. Fans will also be able to get their hands on exclusive Fenders Unplugged merch.

Local talent confirmed to be taking the stage for the intimate acoustic sets at Greggs includes hip-hop artist Kay Greyson, Bugman, The Peevie Wonders, Cortney Dixon and Chintzy Stetson.

Last week to mark the occasion, Greggs installed a new logo at its Grainger Street shop in Newcastle city centre. Meanwhile, it teased fans of what was to come by changing its profile picture across all social channels, while Sam himself also shared a cute post of him enjoying a Greggs Sausage Roll as a child with his 873k Instagram followers, hinting at what he and the brand had been cooking up ahead of his gigs.
