Greggs Festive Bake is back for Christmas. Release date for the pastry favourite is revealed

Forget sausage rolls, jam doughnuts and cheese and bacon turnovers – Greggs' favourite festive treat has been confirmed for 2023.

The bakery chain has confirmed it is bringing back Christmas goodies for this year – and fans do not have long to wait.

Among the snacks making their way back is the Festive Bake, which will return to stores on Thursday November 9. Greggs released the date on Sunday evening after dropping a number of hints.

In a post on X, the North-East-based bakery confirmed that rumours were true and the seasonal menu would indeed be launched this week.

And for those of you who haven't yet fallen for the charms of the puff-pastry-wrapped bundle of joy – it boasts chicken breast, sweetcure bacon and sage and onion stuffing all wrapped in a creamy sage and cranberry sauce.

Other Christmas goodies are also expected to make a comeback. Last year Greggs offered a host of festive fads for foodies, from a turkey, bacon and cranberry pastry roll, a Christmas lunch toastie, a Christmas pudding chocolate biscuit and turkey soup as part of its menu.

Fans have flocked to social media to celebrate the return of the bake after the Newcastle-based company launched a drone light show showing off the festive snack.

And fans queued up to talk of their delight at the return.

One wrote: "Have you ever seen anything more beautiful," while another added: "It is here. The big day. Finally."
