Greggs fans rejoice over city centre site's 24-hour plans

Punters have sent a message to Greggs after plans emerged of a potential 24 hour store in the city centre.

Plans from the bakery giant have emerged that could allow the Lord Street Greggs to serve customers from 11pm to 5pm, every day the week if given the green light by the city council. If successful, it would not be the first time a Greggs has had such operating hours, with places such as Newcastle offering similar already.

The plans have proven wildly popular with many, particularly punters and those who often enjoy a night out in Liverpool, who said 'yes please' when they heard the news.

On Facebook, Annmarie McGanity said: "[It] will be nicer than the cold burger and chips I got at 4am on Saturday."

Lynn Roberts said 'yes please' to the plans, adding: "We need a city centre store that sells snacks in the evening.

"Not all of us are interested in the likes of McDonalds."

Those who work late were also in favour of the idea, with Michelle Roche saying: "I finish work at 4am so would be good for me."

Jackie Kewn called the plans 'great', adding 'I love the one in Newcastle', while Denise Campbell said 'why not'.

She added: "There's no curfew on McDonald's

Heather McLean said: "4am sausage rolls here we come."
