Greg O’Shea dismisses rumour that he turned down €100k to appear on I’m a Celebrity

Greg O’Shea has rubbished reports that he turned down an offer of €100,000 to appear on I’m a Celebrity... Get me out of Here!

The Love Island winner, who is filling in for Eoghan McDermott on 2fm Breakfast said that the speculation over the weekend was false and he wasn’t approached.

Quizzed by his co-host Doireann Garrihy about the news, he joked: “I turned down €112,000 to be here with you Doireann.”

Explaining what happened, Greg said: “I didn’t [turn down I’m a Celebrity ], of course not.

“I don’t know where they are pulling that story out of, that is just to fill a paper and it is not true.”

However, while he is too busy now, the Limerick native and law student who is currently training with the rugby 7s, added that he would consider the offer later on.

He said: “Maybe in time.

“This year I am sticking with trying to get to the Olympics, but then after that, something like that I think I would enjoy it.”

And after Maura Higgins revealed she chose ITV’s Dancing on Ice over RTE’s Dancing with the Stars, Greg also rubbished any rumours that he turned down the hit dancing show too.

“No, that’s not true either and I don’t know where they are pulling that out of.

“I definitely expressed that I am not looking to on TV right now.

“Reality TV is not for me at the moment with everything I have going on but down the line, yeah, definitely.”
