Greg Hemphill 'claims' The Godfather 3 has stolen Still Game theme tune

Jack and Victor urnae happy - someone's nicked their theme tune! So says Still Game star Greg Hemphill.

The comedian took to social media earlier today to 'claim' "The Godfather 3 has stolen the Still Game theme tune", albeit with the caveat of "...before we even made Still Game". The Godfather 3 first arrived on our screens in 1991 - the first episode of Still Game aired in 2002.

Yet listening to 'Marcia Festa', a song composed by Carmine Coppola, Nino Rota and Pietro Mascagni, you can kind of understand what Greg is getting at.

Have a listen to both songs below, and let us know your thoughts Glasgow!

Still Game's theme music is an excerpt from the song Cuban Boys, as recorded by the Cuban Boys, based on a sample of Frank Chacksfield's original Cuban Boys song from album West of Sunset.

And although Greg's claim may be a little far-fetched, we can't help but imagine the sight of Jack and Victor squaring up to Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in The Clansman over who came up with the tune first!
