Greenwatch: US and IEA pessimistic on climate deal

Paris, France: A new global deal on climate change should be achieved at a meeting in Copenhagen in 2009 despite disagreement at talks this week, the head of the UN climate change secretariat says. That is despite the US saying tough 2020 climate goals are unachievable and the International Energy Agency putting the cost of substantial emissions cuts at $45tn by 2050.
