Greenock firebomb fears as new threats issued on sinister Instagram account

A sinister social medial account has issued more threats over the Greenock firebomb drug war.

The Instagram account linked to the feud has emerged a week on from the fifth incident in a dispute which has left one man dead and a mum and daughter rescued from a fire.

It said the attacks will stop once a final £2000 is paid. Police confirmed they were investigating the account.

Yesterday, three further messages were posted – and deleted – just a few hours later.

The first showed a screenshot of a man’s Instagram account and asked if anyone knew where he was living.

The second boasted whoever running the account has the “longest memory ever” and doesn’t “forget s***” – while offering money for someone providing the correct address for the man.

The third message threatened revenge on anyone who tried to set up the person behind the page.

A police spokesman said: “Inquiries are ongoing.”

The last incident involved a ground floor flat in Kincaid Court, Greenock, which went up in flames last Monday night.

Officers appealed to the public for information on an electric blue car, which they believe is a BMW, which carried the trio of firestarters to the flat to start the blaze.

The first fire, on September 14, saw George Miller, 46, dying while trying to torch a house in Union Street, Greenock.

It’s understood Miller was paid £500 and supplied crack cocaine to carry out the job. CCTV footage capturing his death emerged online the following day.

On September 16, a 40-year-old woman was injured and a nine-year-old girl shaken when their home in Wellington Street was torched.
