Green Day rumoured for Glastonbury Festival 2020 as tour dates announced

Tickets for next year's Glastonbury Festival haven't even gone on sale yet, and people are already speculating on who could headline the event.

The Worthy Farm festival will celebrate 50 years in 2020, so fans are expecting big things.

Fleetwood Mac, Elton John and Madonna are just some of the bookies' favourites.

Michael Eavis has already confirmed Wolf Alice will play the festival, with Foals, Liam Gallagher and Paul McCartney also rumoured.

But a new theory has started today because American rock band Green Day have announced a UK and Ireland tour - alongside other hit groups Weezer and Fall Out Boy.

The four-date Hella Mega tour includes a gap which could mean they'd be free to appear at Worthy Farm.

The Hella Mega tour will be in Glasgow on June 24, London on June 26 and Huddersfield on June 27.

They're then taking a day off on June 28 - the Sunday of Glastonbury 2020 - before the final date of their UK and Ireland tour in Dublin, on June 29.
