Following a Covid-19 shake-up, the race will now start and finish in Newcastle with runners crossing the Tyne Bridge twice.

The route, which typically starts in Newcastle and ends in South Shields, was changed for the first time in 40 years over Covid concerns.

The original route is expected to return in 2022.

The start line will remain on the Central Motorway (parallel to Claremont Road) as in previous years.

The finish line is now on the Great North Road in Newcastle, adjacent to the Town Moor.
