Great British Bake Off: When is festive special with It's A Sin cast airing and who's in it?

Channel 4 ’s It’s A Sin may have broken hearts with its devastating finale back in February, but they’re back for more cheerful affair this month as the some of the cast reunite for a Bake Off Christmas special.

The channel announced the exciting news on Twitter, writing: "On your marks, get set… La! We’re turning our Tent into the Pink Palace as the stars of award-winning @Channel4 drama It’s A Sin don their aprons for The Great Christmas Bake Off!"

With series 12 of Bake Off nearing its end, the news that will be not one but two upcoming holiday specials is a welcome one for fans of the show.

When is the It's A Sin Bake Off Christmas special airing?

Currently there is no air date for the Bake Off Christmas special.

However, last year the festive special aired on December 24, so we would expect this year's special to air on the same date. We will update this article once that has been confirmed.

Who will be part of the It's A Sin Bake Off special?

(CHANNEL 4)

The tweet from Channel 4’s official account announced the It’s A Sin line-up for the one-off Christmas special hosted by Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas will include Olly Alexander, who starred as Ritchie Tozer in the drama, who will be joined by co-stars Lydia West (Jill), Nathaniel Curtis (Ash) and Shaun Dooley (Ritchie’s dad Clive) as they all battle it out to become a Star Baker this Christmas.

Bake Off will be also airing another special near the New Year, in which four former bakers go head to head in three seasonal challenges.

It's been confirmed that this special will see series nine stars Kim-Joy and Jon facing off against Hermine and Rowan of series 11.

What is It's A Sin about?

The five-part series set from 1981 to 1991 in London, followed a group of gay men living through the HIV/AIDS crisis in the UK.

Written and created by Russell T Davies, the heart-wrenching drama received critical acclaim for its emotional scenes, writing and depiction of AIDS.

It aired between January and February this year, and went on to win an NTA in the New Drama category, with actor Olly also being nominated for a Best Actor award.

Which series of Bake Off is currently airing?

While fans wait for the Bake Off holiday specials, the twelfth series of the show is currently airing on Channel 4.
