Great British Bake Off episode two preview as Glaswegians take on biscuits

The second episode of the Great British Bake Off is set to air next week, and this time our Glaswegian contestants take on the art of biscuits.

Among the bakers are Lanarkshire music teacher Kevin and Cumbria nuclear scientist James, who grew up in the east end of the Glasgow, before moving to England after university.

Both Kevin and James will turn their hand to biscuit-making this week, after James impressed viewers with his Scottish attire in week one. Glasgow Live reported at the time that James was a smash hit with viewers, as he donned a kilt to make sandwich cakes.

The scientist donned a kilt, and people were quick to comment on the attire on Twitter. One said: "Sticky Toffee Sponges… James is the one! Scottish accent and kilt too…"

"Glasgow James from #gbbo also gets my vote," a second revealed. "James baking while wearing a kilt," said a fourth said alongside a heart emoji, while a fifth commented: "James just seems so wholesome."

Now, James and his kilt, alongside Kevin, will be taking biscuit-making to the next level, as they face off in the famous tent. The episode synopsis reads: "The Great British Bake Off is back, as the nation's most famous tent gets pitched in the grounds of Welford Park once again.

"Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas lead the latest batch of bakers through 30 brand-new challenges set by judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

"It's crunch time for the remaining bakers in Biscuit Week, as they kick off with illusion macarons in the Signature, before producing a fruity favourite in the Technical.

"And in the Showstopper, they put their creativity to the test by making a dramatic 3D mask entirely from biscuits. Three challenges, but only one baker will be crowned star baker, and one baker will sadly have to go home."

You can watch James and Kevin in the Great British Bake Off on Tuesday, September 20 at 8pm on Channel 4.
