Grants of €2.7 million set up to provide 'employment support' to migrants in Ireland

Grants totalling €2.7million to provide employment support for migrants have been announced.

Seven projects will be delivered over the next three years across Ireland by non-governmental organisations.

They will provide a range of practical supports directly to migrants, primarily aimed at improving their chances of getting work and will include English language classes and workplace training.

Integration Minister Roderic O’Gorman said the projects will help boost migrant employability.

He added: “These grants will bolster the good work being carried out every day by local community organisations and national NGOs in support of migrant integration.”
