Graham Potter to give Cobham quintet Newcastle chance - four things spotted in Chelsea training

Graham Potter could finally hand Omari Hutchinson a senior debut in Chelsea's clash with Newcastle United this weekend. The Magpies are set to welcome the Blues to St James' Park on Saturday afternoon, November 12, for a last dance before the World Cup.

Eddie Howe's side head into the fixture nine Premier League games unbeaten, winning four of their previous five. Newcastle are enjoying a great vein of form and look poised to challenge for the top spots come the end of the season.

Chelsea, on the other hand, are winless in their last four Premier League clashes and they're in desperate need of a win before the squad disperses later this month. The appearance of Hutchinson has been long-awaited and the tricky winger could be what Potter needs to inject new life into the west Londoners.

So, with that being said, football.london have spotted four things in the latest instalment of training pictures ahead of Chelsea's clash with Newcastle.

Cobham quintet set for chance to shine

Lewis Hall, Josh Brooking, Bashir Humphreys, Eddie Beach and Hutchinson trained with the first team. The Blues Development Squad have just one fixture to play before the New Year, coming in the shape of a Papa Johns Trophy round of 32 clash.

The latter of the five opened the scoring in final group stage tie as Chelsea won 3-2 against Leyton Orient. Hutchinson has flirted with the prospect of making his senior debut for the west Londoners having travelled to a number of first-team fixtures recently.

Hall starred in Chelsea's defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup third round. He impressed greatly, injecting fresh life into Potter's side.

Loftus-Cheek chat

Potter was pictured to be having a chat with Ruben Loftus-Cheek during training. The 26-year-old midfielder has operated at both right wing-back and in a double pivot this season.

One minutes silence held

A one-minute silence was held at Cobham to honour Armistice Day. The silence is held every year at 11:00 GMT on November 11 to mark the end of World War One.

Koulibaly in action

Kalidou Koulibaly was pictured training, suggesting he could make a long-awaited return to the side. The 31-year-old has been absent from Potter's starting-eleven in each of Chelsea's previous three Premier League clashes due to injury.
