Graeme Shinnie pictured at Derby County for talks as Aberdeen future hangs in the balance

Aberdeen captain Graeme Shinnie has been pictured at Derby County's Pride Park as he holds talks over a move to England.

The midfielder's Pittodrie contract expires at the end of the season and he's yet to put pen to paper on the new deal offered by the Dons.

But, just days ahead of their Scottish Cup semi-final showdown against Celtic, Shinnie has been given a tour of the Rams' stadium after being given permission to speak to the Championship club, reports Derbyshire Live.

Shinnie is suspended for Sunday's Hampden clash and was spotted in the Midlands on Thursday afternoon.

Rangers, Sheffield United and Bristol City are among other rumoured suitors for the 27-year-old.

But it appears Derby boss Frank Lampard has firmed up his interest as the clock ticks down on Shinnie's contract.

He's been free to speak to other clubs since January but Derek McInnes remained hopeful he would stay at Aberdeen.

The Dons has admitted, however, he was keen for Shinnie to provide some clarity on the situation.

McInnes said: "Graeme and I speak every other day so I know exactly where he is with this.

“There is hope, of course there is, and we will see.

“I would have liked an answer yesterday, I would have liked an answer in January. We are still in the position where Graeme knows what we can do for him."
