Governors Ball dumps DaBaby after homophobic comments

NEW YORK — Governors Ball is throwing out DaBaby with the bath water.

The New York music festival, scheduled for September, dropped the controversial rapper from its lineup Monday, a day after Lollapalooza did the same in Chicago.

“Founders Entertainment does not and will not tolerate hate or discrimination of any kind,” the organizers said in a statement.

“We welcome and celebrate the diverse communities that make New York City the greatest city in the world. Thank you to the fans who continue to speak up for what is right. Along with you, we will continue to use our platform for good.”

The 29-year-old rapper has spent the past week making the wrong kind of headlines, stemming from homophobic comments about gay men, HIV and AIDS spewed from the stage at Miami’s Rolling Loud festival.

After a half apology, DaBaby doubled down, drawing ire from everyone from Elton John to Dua Lipa.
