Gordon Ramsay charging £275 a head for Christmas dinner – with drinks not included

Gordon Ramsay will be serving up Christmas food at a posh location in London for an eye watering £275 – the same amount of money that a large family is estimated to spend on their entire Christmas food shop.

The 55-year-old celebrity chef will be rustling up Christmas roast dinners with all of the trimmings at the Savoy Grill, as well as posh nibbles on New Year's Eve.

If you want Christmas day off of cooking and fancy booking in for some posh grub on December 25, it will set you back £275 – for the meal alone.

This price doesn't cover the £2 charge for each guest or the discretionary 15% service charge on the total bill.

With the added costs, the Christmas day meal shoots up to £320 a person, while the New Year's Eve meal hikes up to £405.

The Savoy, who houses Gordon's popular grill in west London, says: “Celebrate the festive season at Gordon Ramsay’s Savoy Grill.

"On Christmas day The Savoy Grill will serve a stunning six-course meal with some wonderful dishes including; the Arnold Bennet Soufflé with aged Cheddar sauce, Beef Wellington, Dover sole and orange sorbet with Champagne foam, just to name a few."

The prices are all before you even take a sip of a festive drink, and trust us when we say that they're steep in price too.

With a signature cocktail setting you back £17, a flute of swanky champagne costing £150, a cup of tea standing at £6.50 and a fruit juice priced at £5.50 – drinks also have a 12.5–15% discretionary charge.

Last year the celebrity chef took to Instagram to promote his Christmas menu at his restaurant Bread Street Kitchen.

Posting a clip of him preparing a dish, critics were quick to comment on what was on offer.

Gordon captioned the post: " Christmas dinner sorted," but fans weren't convinced.

One said: "That gravy is way too runny."

Another penned: "I would of walked out. The name means nothing it’s all in the food."

While a third said: "I would be so disappointed if that was the best I could come up with for Christmas Dinner."

And a fourth wrote: "Looks quite bland no finesse looks incomplete."

This comes as Gordon's 20-year-old daughter, Strictly Come Dancing star Tilly Ramsay is predicted to become a millionaire after her successful stint on the show.

With her popularity soaring over recent weeks, an insider has now said that Tilly is set to bank seven figures after rising to ultimate fame and becoming a household name.

Speaking of the fortune she could earn, a source told The Sun that if she's clever, "she could bank a million over the next couple of years".

The source said: "She has had loads of offers for endorsements and brand partnerships because companies can see how much appeal she has — especially because of the graceful way she has dealt with being shamed over her body."
