Gordon Hayward may miss Thursday’s game vs. Bucks due to ankle injury

The Boston Celtics haven’t even played a minute of a post-NBA All-Star Break game yet and the injury bug has already bitten the team.

In his weekly interview on 98.5 The Sports Hub‘s “Zolak and Bertrand,” Brad Stevens stated the Celtics will likely be without Gordon Hayward when Boston takes on the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night. Stevens stated Hayward was working out with Semi Ojeleye over the break and twisted his right ankle on Tuesday.

Last season, Hayward was out for the entire year after injuring his left leg in the first game of the season—so it’s not the same leg. If Hayward misses the matchup with Milwaukee, it will only be the sixth one he’s missed of Boston’s 59 games (Thursday being the 59th). Hayward has not missed a game since January 19 and it’s only the second time he has missed a game since the calendar turned over.
