After a long wait, Google has finally unveiled the release date for Google Gemini integration into Google Home devices.
The company recently posted on X that Google Gemini will be available from October 1, 2025. The post also contains a leak that allows users to sign up for updates so they know the moment Gemini is available.

Google originally announced Gemini integration during the Google I/O event back in May. According to the company, Gemini will offer a more seamless experience when talking to your Google Nest devices. Thanks to the inclusion of Gemini Live, we can also expect to have more natural, free-flowing conversations.
When it comes to features, we've heard that Google Gemini will be able to analyze Google Home devices to help offer better automation. Additionally, Gemini will reportedly enable you to set up your devices with simple voice commands.
As previously reported, it appears that Google Gemini will fully replace Google Assistant on devices. This will likely be a positive for many users, especially with all that Gemini offers. The option to have more free-flowing conversations feels very futuristic, and Gemini's ability to understand more complex commands could afford much more control.
One thing that's still unclear is the difference between the paid and unpaid versions of the service. Currently, we know that Google is planning a paid option, but we don't know what features will be locked behind a paywall at this point. With that being said, anything will likely be better than Google Assistant, which was so bad that the company had to apologize for its lackluster performance.
For the time being, we will have to wait and see what Google Gemini can do with some of the best Google Home Speakers and Google Smart Displays. Although for those already burned by Google's AI, it might be too little too late.
