Good Morning Britain viewers issue plea to Richard Madeley after Susanna Reid left open-mouthed by age admission

Good Morning Britain viewers had an unusual plea to Richard Madeley as he returned to the helm of the show. The presenter was back fronting the ITV news programme on Tuesday (June 20) alongside Susanna Reid as they brought viewers the latest news headlines.

As well as keeping those tuning in up to date with the latest breaking news, including updates on the ongoing search for a submersible tourist vessel which went missing during a voyage to the Titanic shipwreck, the presenting pair also debated other topics and shared the latest celebrity news.

And one fact in particular about her co-host left Susanna open-mouthed. Richard and Susanna chatted about Doctor Who as they prepared to welcome Catherine Tate onto the show to chat about her latest project, Queen of Oz, ahead of her return to the hit sci-fi series.

He said: "It’s 13 years since her last visit to the Tardis, Catherine Tate is coming back and reuniting with David Tennant to celebrate the show’s, do you believe it, 60th anniversary." He then added: "I remember the first one, we’ll be chatting to her later."

But a surprised Susanna replied: "No, Richard no! You can’t!" To which 67-year-old Richard confirmed: "I was seven years old, I remember it."

Clearly thinking Richard wasn't old enough to remember such a thing, Susanna, 52, added: "You must be sleeping in a tardis then!"

Meanwhile, GMB viewers were issuing a complaint on social media as they picked up a habit of Richard's that was rubbing them up the wrong way.

@cracknellrobert tweeted: "@GMB does Richard Madeley have to kept clicking his pen." @JackieD60346343 begged: "@GMB please stop Richard playing with his pen, the clicking is REALLY annoying." @mrscarter22 asked: "@GMB Can you ask @richardm56 to stop clicking his pen on and off please? #GMB."

@plus_effect posted: "Stop clicking your pen Richard! Someone take it off him! #gmb." @EmilyMulti cried: "God, I wish #RichardMadeley would stop clicking that bloody pen! #gmb." @popparper demanded: "@GMB Richard stop clicking your pen.. #GMB."
