Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid in disbelief at Alastair Campbell's angry Boris Johnson rant

Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid was left in disbelief at her co-host's Alastair Campbell's Boris Johnson rant.

The pair were discussing how the Prime Minister had not been on the ITV show for 1,563 days.

On the programme a clip was shown of Boris Johnson talking to GMB's political editor Ranvir Singh in October 2019 promising he would come on the show.

Ranvir asks "when will you come on?", with the Prime Minister saying he will "come on as soon as I can."

The political editor then says that the show would like to speak to him in the "next week or two", as Mr Johnson repeats "you bet".

However, it appears this was false promises as Mr Johnson did not come on the morning programme and has not been on for more than four years.

This led to host Alastair Campbell angrily calling Mr Johnson a "coward" and a "charlatan".

He said: "Look you're not allowed to use the c-word on this programme but the guy's a coward.

"And he is a charlatan."

He turned to Susanna and asked "what's wrong?" as she remained silent and looking at the camera.

She replied: "Nothing, I am just listening."

Alastair asked her if she agrees with him that the Prime Minister is a "coward" for not coming on the show.

However, Susanna diplomatically replied: "Well it would be lovely to have him on the programme this morning, that is what I will say.

"A warm invitation to you Prime Minister, I am sure you are watching this morning.

"We would very much like to talk to you."

GMB's Ranvir is currently at the Tory conference in Manchester in hopes of interviewing the Prime Minister.
