Good Morning Britain's Ben Shepherd mocks Susanna Reid's 'dressing gown'

Good Morning Britain's Ben Shepherd jibed at Susanna Reid over the 'dressing gown' outfit she wore last week.

The 50-year-old presenter faced a barrage of criticism over her dress on Thursday's episode of the ITV breakfast news programme.

Today's edition of the show featured a debate on whether it was acceptable to dress down for work.

Ben Shepherd spoke about how he understands it is now the style to dress more casually - and Susanna Reid couldn't resist to joke about last week's wardrobe mishap.

She said: "Why not wear things like your dressing gown to work. That's my view."

Ben said: "The question is whether it's appropriate attire.

"First thing in the morning, if you're at home in your bedroom then maybe - but national television."

The dress caused such a stir during an edition of Good Morning Britain last week that Susanna was forced to address it on air before sending out another post on Instagram.

She said: "I want to point out that I did get dressed this morning, I haven't come in in my dressing gown."

Fans of the show jumped at the chance to bring it up again as soon as the topic was brought up about work dress code on today's show.

One user said: "Well considering Susanna was wearing her dressing gown the other morning."

Another added: "Work dress code, are we going to talk about Susanna’s dressing gown?!"

*Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV and ITVHub
