Good Morning Britain fans not happy as Charlotte Hawkins eats banana 'wrong way'

Good Morning Britain fans had their say during a segment about fruit on the daytime programme on Tuesday.

For the second time this week, the show was fronted by Rob Rinder and Charlotte Hawkins. While viewers tuned in to hear all the topics of the day, things quickly moved from news to something less expected.

Regular guests Kevin Maguire, from the Daily Mirror, and Andrew Pierce, of the Daily Mail, were back to discuss the current cost of living crisis and today were discussing soaring bills becoming a "national emergency".

Robert Rinder spoke about the utilities being monopolies, and said a "bold Labour Party" should come out and say "you're not doing a good job, you're making billions in profits, that's not a reasonable form of capitalism". Mr Maguire agreed there was "no competition" for these companies.

However, the topic of conversation soon changed to fruit. Charlotte Hawkins introduced a segment about bananas, after a TikTok star has gone viral claiming we've all been "eating them the wrong way".

Apparently, bananas should be peeled from the bottom, that is, the end without the stalk. As guests and presenters alike tried out the new way, many fans of the show took to social media to voice their opinions.

Baz said: "Just eat the banana, it's amazing how monkeys have coped for millions of years without influencers". Rachel said: "Charlotte Hawkins did not look happy peeling that banana the wrong way", while DOPreston said: "People starving but #GMB are having a debate on how to peel a banana properly."

One Twitter user corrected the hosts. Mike Chiocci said: "That is the top not the bottom which is where it's attached to the tree!"
