Golden Globes 2024: Timothée Chalamet and Barry Keoghan lead best dressed men on the red carpet

As the awards season race begins, a handful of boys have stormed out the blocks in a bid to rival what has long been a women’s game of the red carpet best dressed.

While the standard tuxedo remained the most popular choice on the night — see the old guard: Bradley Cooper, Leonardo DiCaprio and Orlando Bloom — a gaggle of lads leant into catwalk-ready numbers for more sparkling turns.

Cue, Timothée Chalamet. While the 28-year-old actor refrained from any internet-melting, backless blouses (better reserved for summer months spent in Cannes or Venice) the new Willy Wonka opted for a suitably dazzling, embroidered Celine blazer and all-black shirt and slacks. Still he dominated social feeds this morning, this time thanks to a cheeky kiss with girlfriend Kylie Jenner

Saltburn’s Barry Keoghan was a burgundy-red vision in spring summer 2024 Louis Vuitton, designed by Pharrell Williams, while Andrew Scott and Johnathan Bailey both played into power white dressing in Valentino and Givenchy suits, respectively.

The fashion daddy frontier was also strong, which bodes well for a 2024 rich in gifts for the eyes. Pedro Pascal was dashing (despite flaunting a sling because, as he told reporters on the night, he “fell”) in a Bottega Veneta patterned polo; Lenny Kravitz opted for a cut out, Alexander McQueen dinner jacket jumpsuit, and Jeremy Allen White followed his riotously successful, semi-nude Calvin Klein campaign last week with a black tux and sheer shirt from the brand.

It's not to say the bar cannot not be raised in the months to come (it can, and should be), but as Sunday nights in January go, this year's crop appear to be up to the challenge.
