Prithviraj Kothari, managing director at RiddiSiddhi Bullions Ltd., president of IBJA, says "Gold fell below $4,000 after Fed Governor Christopher Waller delivered an unexpectedly hawkish speech, suggesting a rate hike is now just as likely as a cut — a sharp shift from recent market expectations. Waller blamed inflation on tariffs, Middle East-driven energy prices, and AI-fueled consumption rather than the labour market, noting core PCE has climbed to 3.4% and headline inflation to 4.1%. Adding to the pressure, Trump reinstated a blockade on Iranian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, reviving US-Iran tensions. Technically, gold's next move depends on whether it holds $4,000, while silver stays range-bound between $58 and $63.If Gold sustains below $4000, next target would be $3900"
