Gogglebox stars say just one word as they pay tribute to Paul O'Grady

Gogglebox stars Tom and Julie Malone have travelled to the Paul O'Grady mural to pay their respects to the late TV icon.

The 67-year-old comedian and presenter died at his home on March 28 "unexpectedly but peacefully" according to his husband, Andre Portasio. It was later confirmed the Lily Savage star died from sudden cardiac arrhythmia.

An outpouring of love has come from his celebrity friends and fans alike in the weeks since his passing.

Paul was laid to rest in a private ceremony in Kent on Thursday, while fans also lined the streets of his hometown in Birkenhead.

Earlier this month, a new mural of Paul O’Grady appeared on Manchester's Canal Street outside The Church, formerly Churchill’s bar, in the city's Gay Village. Artist Chris Moore said: "It’s lovely to do a portrait of Lily and be able to use such vibrant colours. I’m used to using more grayscale and black and white so it’s a bit different for me.

"Hopefully, it’ll be there for years to come. I think it’s a really fitting location for Lily to be in.”

On Friday, Gogglebox's Julie and Tom shared a photo of themselves in front of the mural. Captioning the snap, Julie simply said: "Wow!"

Fans have rushed to the comments section, with many planning on visiting the mural themselves. Carolyn said: "That's my next mission next time I'm in Manchester to go see this mural it's amazing as he was", while Nicola said: "How wonderful!!! Love that".

Kathy said: "Lovely picture of you both. And the Paul O'Grady portrait, wow". Gavyn said: "Isn't this just fab".
