Gogglebox star Steph Parker reveals she had 'terrifying' heart infection

Former Gogglebox star Steph Parker has opened up about the health scare she secretly battled last year.

The reality TV legend, 52, suffered double pneumonia and a heart infection around Christmas time.

Speaking on ITV's Lorraine with her husband Dom Parker, 53, Steph called the experience "terrifying".

But the mum-of-two admitted that it did help her put things into perspective and enjoy her life more.

Speaking to Lorraine Kelly, Steph explained: "Bless you for asking. It was all very terrifying but it does give you a boot and make you reevaluate your life, because time is short and precious."

The couple, who have been married 21 years, appeared on Lorraine to discuss their new show The Great Hotel Escape.

They travel around the country looking at struggling hotels and offer their advice to would-be hoteliers.

Steph and Dom ran their own hotel, The Salutation, in Kent.

Steph said "The premise is that we tell them what not to do, rather than what ti do because we're not experts.

"We made it up as we went along, very much so.

"It is important we give them the confidence to try things and move forward."

Earlier this year the couple made a Channel 4 documentary called Steph & Dom: Can Cannabis Save Our Son?

They looked to see whether cannabis oil could help treat their son's severe epilepsy.
