Gogglebox star Giles Wood slammed as he shares 'dangerous' driving habit

Gogglebox star Giles Wood came under fire from viewers tonight as he shared a "dangerous" driving habit.

The entertainment personality invited viewers into his home where he commentated on the week's best TV alongside Mary Killen. The husband and wife stars of the popular Channel 4 show have established themselves as household favourites ever since they first joined the show in 2015.

The couple, who affectionately refer to each other as "nutty", returned tonight to provide observations on shows such as Britain's Got Talent and Bridgerton. However, Giles came under fire as he shared a motoring habit while watching Netflix's F1: Drive to Survive.

He said: "I think I'm like a safety car on the motorway because I sometimes drive at 70 in the fast lane, Mary, to stop others from speeding. A lot of people end up flashing me and undertaking me."

Viewers following the show on Twitter were taken aback by the motoring habit and branded it as "dangerous".

Teena said: "Giles is one of those annoying drivers in the fast lane, might have known…"

Sue tweeted: "Oh Giles, you don’t do that….do you? #baddriving"

Courtenay added: "Please tell me Giles is joking. That’s dangerous!"

Ela posted : "Yeh stop hogging the lane Giles."

Neil tweeted: "Giles “would drive at 70 to stop others from speeding” by hogging a clear lane."

Jules said: "So Giles deliberately drives on Motorways to annoy other drivers and possibly put lives at risk."

Gogglebox airs Friday at 9pm on Channel 4
