Gogglebox pays tribute to 'wonderful friend' and colleague after her tragic death age 41

Gogglebox has paid tribute to late publicist Lesley Land, who has been described by its broadcaster as a "wonderful" and "generous" person following her death this month.

The latest episode, which aired last night, was dedicated to the late publicist who is understood to have passed away last week. She was aged just 41 at the time of her death.

She had worked for Channel 4 for more than eight years, having been involved with projects like the Big Narstie Show and Stand Up to Cancer whilst at the company.

Last night's episode of Gogglebox – another show that the late publicity manager had worked on – honoured her by sharing a photo and an epitaph at the end.

An epitaph to late publicist Lesley Land featured on the latest episode of Gogglebox (Channel 4)

The photo of Lesley, whose other credits included the Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan, was accompanied by the following: "In loving memory - Lesley Land 1981-2022."

Channel 4 paid tribute to Lesley in a statement that had been shared by Deadline earlier this week. The broadcaster said it was "deeply saddened" by the news of her death.

It commented recently: "She was the driving force of many of Channel 4's most memorable press campaigns of the last decade, delivering them with flair and panache."

She worked on the programme whilst at Channel 4, having joined the broadcaster almost a decade ago (Channel 4)

It continued: "Lesley was a wonderful friend, a generous colleague and made tremendous fun wherever she went. But ultimately family was at the core of Lesley's life."

The broadcaster further commented in the statement: "Our hearts go out to them at this devastating time. Much loved by all who knew her, she will be sorely missed."

The outlet reports that her final publicity campaign was for the Channel 4 documentary David Baddiel: Jews Don't Count. It's been said that she'd "never been prouder" to work on a programme.

It's been reported that Lesley worked for Sky and Channel 5 earlier in her career. She's said to have joined Channel 4 in 2014 and took on a publicity manager role two years later.
