COLVA: Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao on Saturday seems to have launched his election campaign for the ensuing general assembly elections by distributing 124 sanction letters under the Ladli Laxmi scheme at his office in Varca.
Interestingly, Covid-19 protocols of social distancing were thrown to the winds as people were made to sit in proximity even though invitees were wearing face masks.
Alemao said he had earlier distributed 500 sanction letters and pending letters would be distributed before the 2022 elections. He also promised to complete and commission the railway underpass at Seraulim before the election.
Reacting to the criticism on social media on the restoration of the bundh in Orlim, Alemao said it is the fault of the consultant and not the contractor, but said it would be re-constructed at no cost to the government.
Stating that he would be elected again in 2022, he said that in the last four years he has brought in the development of Benaulim like none of his predecessors.
