PANAJI: AAP Goa president and advocate Amit Palekar has been arrested by the crime branch in connection with Banastarim accident in which three people were killed. Palekar allegedly tried to mislead the investigation by presenting a dummy driver.
After the prosecution made a statement before the high court of Bombay at Goa that detention of builder Shripad alias Paresh Sinai Sawardekar is not necessary, the high court granted him bail. Sawardekar was allegedly driving the Mercedes-Benz SUV that killed three people in Banastarim on August 6.
Meghana Sinai Sawardekar, the owner of the Mercedes-Benz SUV that was involved in the Banastarim accident in which her husband, Paresh, drunk and driving in a rash and negligent manner, had told the high court of Bombay at Goa that they would deposit Rs 2 crore to pay compensation to the family of the victims.
