Alex Beresford has said he has quit social media after suffering 'relentless racist abuse' after defending Meghan Markle.
The Good Morning Britain star entered into an on-air spat with former co-star Piers Morgan following the release of the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes Oprah interview last month.
Piers, 56, ended up storming off the GMB set after Alex opposed his views of not believing Meghan's claims in the tell-all chat.
Now, writing for The Telegraph, Alex has said he has been forced to step away from Twitter and Facebook because it was "getting too much".
"I haven't announced it (like the former Arsenal player Thierry Henry did this week when he publicly quit social media, in response to anonymous racist bullying) but I have been forced to step away from Twitter and Facebook myself, because it was getting too much," the 40-year-old wrote.
"I am a strong person, but I am not made of steel,' he continued, adding that the messages he's received are 'very much the lived experience of racism in Britain".
He added: "The harsh reality, though, is that social media is just a reflection of a bigger problem in society.
"These people are your co-workers, they are even a parent at the school gate."

Alex also opened up about why he was so passionate in what he said following Meghan and Prince Harry's interview.
He said it felt "personal" after suffering a similar issue to the royal couple when it came to the birth of his child.
"Last month’s Harry and Meghan interview resonated with me on so many levels, from a similar experience around the concern of a baby’s shade of colour to the devastation of laying to rest someone very close to my heart just three months ago, who had those same suicidal thoughts," Alex wrote.
"Whilst appearing to be a Royal problem, it felt so personal to me."
Piers spoke out about his GMB exit in his Mail on Sunday column last weekend.
He called Alex 'GMB's occasional stand-in weatherman' and said he hadn't heard from him since.

I don't mind outside guests trying to make a name for themselves by whacking me like this," Piers said. "But I wasn't going to sit there and take it from one of my own team, especially someone who I've gone out of my way to help whenever he's asked me for advice about his career.
"Realising I might say something I'd regret, I decided to leave the studio to cool down."
He went on to say that as he walked, Alex "doubled down" and called his behaviour "absolutely diabolical" which was broadcast on ITV.
