Gloucestershire plant hire firm expands range with £1.5m investment

A Gloucestershire-based plant and tool hire firm has invested £1.5m in new equipment.

WHC Hire, which has depots in Tewkesbury, Worcester and Chipping Norton, supplies contractors, civil engineers, groundwork contractors, builders and other commercial clients.

The company, founded in 1997, has now added 25 excavators made by machinery firm Kubota to its fleet.

The firm said the new gear would be rolled-out across all of its three sites, with the company having already expanded its range this year with new all-terrain vehicles, dumper trucks and petrol log splitters.

Managing director James Clutterbuck said: “Since the birth of WHC, we have always made it our priority to offer our clients the highest-performing equipment on the market. To ensure so, I personally conduct a 210-point assessment on machines from a range of manufacturers focusing on the following key areas. Serviceability, excavator structure and build quality, cab layout and environment, machine operation and safety systems.

“After a full assessment of the Kubota KX060-5, I found it to be by far the stand-out machine across all aspects of our inspection. I truly believe our customers will benefit from the performance and quality offered from this machine.”
