Gloria Hunniford marked late daughter Caron Keating's 60th birthday with touching celebration

Gloria Hunniford threw a party to celebrate her late daughter Caron Keating 's 60th birthday.

The Rip-Off Britain star, 82, said she had a "blast of a dinner" for friends and family including Caron's two sons Charlie and Gabriel, 28 and 25.

Gloria said: "It was a lovely day full of every kind of feeling that you can imagine. She would have loved it." Caron, who presented shows including Blue Peter, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1997.

She had conventional and complementary treatments but died at her mother's house in Sevenoaks, Kent, in 2004.

Gloria said the 15-strong party met at Caron's grave in Hever, Kent, in the evening.

She said: "It's pretty dark at half seven so everybody brought a candle or a torch. I said, look, I have all the food and everything organised, all you have to do is show up and bring flowers and balloons. and that's what they did".

They later went over the road to a pub, where Gloria said Caron would have been the first to get the party started.

She said: "She used to dance down the middle of the table and I have got a very strong memory of that. You have to mark these occasions ... celebrate life as well as mourn it."

Gloria is at the helm of Rip Off Britain Live this week. She fronts the BBC consumer show alongside fellow presenters Angela Rippon, 78, and Julia Somerville, 75.

She said: "We started in the financial crisis 14 years ago and here we are in one of the worst ... we have never been more relevant than we are now."

Rip-Off Britain airs on BBC One from 9.15am all this week. Catch-up on previous episodes through BBC iPlayer.
